The St Denis Family

There was an interesting French-Irish family living almost across the road from our house. Their name was St Dennis, but everyone pronounced it in the French Son-da-nay. The husband was French, and the wife Irish. They had purchased a plot of ground from father out of pasture field and had built a comfortable log and some outbuildings. On the land behind the house, there was a thriving plum orchard.

From Newark Airport and New England

·        Take 78 West to exit number 75- toward PA-611/Easton/Philadelphia
Turn LEFT onto Morgan Hill Road
Turn LEFT onto Old Well Road
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto S. Delaware Dr./PA-611 (going south, river on left)
Turn RIGHT onto Royal Manor Road (you will see a sign for Fry’s Run park).
If you see Coffeetown Road you’ve gone too far. And you’ve definitely gone
 too far if you see Mueller’s General Store on the left.

Go approx. 1/10 mile – you will see the barn ahead on your right

 

From Lambertville, NJ

·        Take Rt. 29 NORTH to Frenchtown, NJ
Rt. 29 dead ends at Bridge St. in Frenchtown, where you will turn LEFT and go through
the town and across the bridge to Pennsylvania

After crossing the bridge, turn RIGHT onto River Road/32 North
You will come to a big fork in the road (Tire King on left) where 32 continues to the left
and 611 North is to the RIGHT – take 611 North (Delaware River will soon be on the right

611 North will go through Riegelsville, and after you leave this little town you will see
Mueller’s General Store on the right

Go approximately 1 more mile on 611 North, and you will first see Coffeetown Road
and then Royal Manor Road on the left (also will see Fry’s Run park as you turn)

Turn LEFT onto Royal Manor and go approx. 1/10 mile
 you will see the barn ahead on your RIGHT
